Dr. Amanda Ryken grew up in North Vancouver and completed her Bachelor of Science in microbiology and immunology at the University of British Columbia. She earned her Doctor of Optometry with Honours from the University of Waterloo.
During her studies, Dr. Ryken received extensive ocular disease training working alongside ophthalmologists in Surrey. She also spent time in multiple Calgary clinics, focusing on emergency eye care and pediatric treatments. While at the University of Waterloo, she trained in contact lenses, pediatrics, vision therapy, ocular disease and low vision, and won the William Feinbloom Low Vision Award.
Dr. Ryken enjoys connecting with patients of all ages and is passionate about finding personalized solutions for their eye care needs. When she’s not at the clinic, she’s likely baking up a storm or outside hiking or biking.
