Dr. Tammy Brauner

Dr. Tammy Brauner studied at the State University of New York, College of Optometry where she graduated with a Doctor of Optometry, earning honours both academically and for serving her optometric community.

Dr. Brauner received most of her training in New York City, seeing a wide variety of patients in The Big Apple, and also travelled to clinics and hospitals across the US for her optometric education. Her special areas of interest include: anti-fatigue glasses for reducing eye strain during nearwork, contact lenses (including for sports and special occasions, multifocal lenses for focusing at different distances), sports eyewear, and incorporating her knowledge into each patient’s lifestyle and vision needs to help them perform their best.

Dr. Brauner is a member of the Gold Key Optometric Honour Society and received the NYSOA Auxiliary Award in 2013. During her studies, Dr. Brauner was a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa Honour Society, was named to the Dean’s List every semester, and was Class President for the duration of her optometric education. She is currently a member of the Canadian Association of Optometrists (CAO) and Alberta Association of Optometrists (AAO) – she is a media spokesperson for the AAO.

During her free time Dr. Brauner enjoys playing soccer and hockey, spending time in the mountains, and going for walks with her dogs.
