Contact Lens Prescriptions

Why does my contact lens prescription require a brand?

A contact lens prescription must include “an appliance-specific prescription including the parameters” in order to be compliant with the regulations. For example, in Ontario, see OPR 5.2(a).

Each lens has a different fitting parameter (for example, base curve, diameter and lens power) and is only suitable if that lens has been evaluated for fit, comfort and vision on your eyes by a licensed contact lens fitter.

We are happy to fit you into any (safe) contact lens on the market that we have access to, but doing so requires evaluating the actual fit and producing a prescription listing that lens.

You are under no obligation to purchase the retail contact lens product from us (although, we offer a best price guarantee, so think about it!).

Upon request, we will provide a copy of your contact lens prescription to you after the completion of the fitting process.
